Blizzard Blast
Blizzard Blast is a heartwarming tale from the Scampering Meadows series, where the virtuous and adventurous Mouse Family teaches children Godly character through everyday challenges. When a sudden winter storm sweeps across their peaceful meadow, the mice must work together, learning valuable lessons about pride, humility, and the strength of family.
Guided by Papa Mouse’s wisdom from Proverbs 16:18, the story gently shows young readers how pride can lead to trouble, while helping others brings joy and blessing. Through Harriet’s tender care for her little brother Henry—and a renewed gratitude for God’s beautiful creation—the mice celebrate the wonder of every season, inspired by Psalm 147:16.
Blizzard Blast is a wholesome, faith-filled adventure perfect for nurturing Christian values in children.
The Fabulous Flower Frock
The Fabulous Flower Frock is the second children’s story from the Scampering Meadows series. The stories are centred around the adventures of the Mouse Family and gently instill the “fruit of the spirit” in children.
In The Fabulous Flower Frock, Lucy sets out with her brothers to find the perfect flower out of which to make a dress for an upcoming birthday party.
This story deals with making the most out of the little things in life. Granny Sue teaches Lucy that God clothes the lilies of the field and will look after us. The boys help Lucy on her quest to make a flower dress, demonstrating love. Lucy shows generosity in giving her prize to her friend Ellie, showing it is better to give than receive. Granny Sue teaches Lucy the most enduring thing is the word of God.
The Cruise in Canoes
The Cruise in Canoes follows the Mouse Family as they set out for a fun-filled canoeing adventure at Lost Forest Park. After unloading their canoes, the mice stumble upon a surprising mystery of missing trees. The young mice paddle into the peaceful waterways to solve the mystery and search for water lilies and other wonders of creation.
Their friendly competition quickly turns into a challenge when a wave knocks Benji’s paddle into the lake, leaving the twins spinning in circles. The adventure reminds everyone why staying together matters.
After a full day of teamwork, laughter, and wonder, the mice paddle home at sunset, share their stories with Papa. They reflect on the beauty of God’s creation, the lessons learned, gratitude and family togetherness.
Waltzing Through Williamsburg
Waltzing Through Williamsburg follows The Mouse Family as they journey to Colonial Williamsburg for a long-awaited visit with Uncle Silas, Aunt Molly, and their cousins. After arriving at the historic town, the young mice scatter into delightful adventures—exploring a secret mouse passage into the Governor’s Mansion, trying on colonial dresses, learning how silverware and tools were made, and discovering the charm of old-fashioned crafts, trades, and music.
Colonel Charles, Sidney the Silversmith, Margaret the Milliner, and other colonial characters introduce the children to life as it was three hundred years ago. Along the way, the mice learn important lessons about kindness, good behaviour, friendship, and letting their light shine for others. From waltzing in the Grand Ballroom to crossing a log bridge over a bubbling brook, to enjoying a colonial candy lunch, every moment is filled with excitement, learning, and laughter.
As the day winds down, the family gathers for a warm dinner and spends the night nestled in a straw-filled tent, grateful for their blessings. A tin-lantern craft at the end of the story reinforces the spiritual theme that God’s Word is a lamp to our feet, guiding us through life.
This charming tale blends family adventure, historical discovery, and gentle biblical values—inviting children to explore the past while learning the importance of character and shining their light in the world.
The Outing in the Orchard
The Mouse Family sets off for a fun-filled day at the apple orchard. Papa and Momma load all the little mice—Jamie, Lucy, Peter, the twins Joey and Benji, Baby Mouse, and Granny Sue—into their old truck to enjoy a family adventure among the apple trees.
At the orchard, the mice enjoy a bumpy hayride before spreading out to gather apples. Granny Sue watches from a bench while the little ones scurry around excitedly. Joey and Benji climb a tree with Papa’s help, but Benji’s desire to find the biggest apple leads him to ignore Papa’s instructions. When Joey slips and nearly falls, Benji saves him just in time—learning the importance of staying together and listening.
The twins then work as a team to pick apples, discovering that cooperation makes the adventure safer and more fun. When the apples fall dangerously close to Momma, she gathers the family to use a picnic blanket as a safety net—just like “fire-mice.”
Soon, everyone joins in to roll apples to the wagon, gather smaller apples for Granny Sue, and load the cart. Jamie’s friend William helps by driving the tractor as the mice carefully stack their harvest.
Back home, the mice turn their apples into delicious treats. Jamie bakes apple pies with help from the others—peeling, mixing, rolling dough, and filling tiny mouse-sized pies. By evening, the Mouse Family enjoys a feast made from the day’s hard work.
In the end, the adventure teaches lessons about obedience, teamwork, helping others, and enjoying special moments together as a family.
Foraging in the Forest
In this charming Scampering Meadows adventure, the Mouse Family heads into the forest for a day of foraging fun. Papa Mouse invites the children—and their forest friends—to search for the most interesting treasures God has hidden in nature.
The young mice set off in pairs, each eager to discover something special. Joey climbs high to find a giant leaf, Peter finds a hole-filled stone, Andy discovers a bright red mushroom, and others collect fluffy seeds, birch bark, and colorful autumn leaves. Everyone seems to find something wonderful—except Lucy.
Lucy becomes discouraged as the day goes on, but Papa gently reminds her to rejoice with others and to be patient. At last, over a mossy log, Lucy discovers her own treasure: a tiny, brilliant red leaf that fills her with joy.
Back at home, Momma helps her turn the leaf into a beautiful leaf rubbing to hang on her wall. As Papa places it above her bed, Lucy remembers the lessons she learned—gratitude, patience, and rejoicing with others—while celebrating the beauty of God’s creation.
A warm, faith-filled story, Foraging in the Forest encourages children to appreciate nature, wait patiently, and find joy in both their blessings and the success of others.
